Free Internet at the Municipal Public Library!

Dear Residents,

In 2009, the Library in Wierzchosławice was among the finalists selected for the first round of the Library Development Program. In May of this year, the last of the facilities received computer equipment, and in June, access to the Internet. We invite residents to use the Internet free of charge in the public libraries in Wierzchosławice, Bobrowniki Małe, Łętowice, and Bogumiłowice. The equipment intended for the library in Mikołajowice will be made available at the municipal library until the facility relocates.

The Information Society Development Foundation implements the Library Development Program, which aims to provide Polish public libraries with access to computers, the Internet, and training. The Library Development Program in Poland is a joint initiative of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Polish-American Freedom Foundation.

Library users, in addition to borrowing books and periodicals, can now also read news from Poland and around the world on a computer screen, write letters and chat with friends living abroad via instant messaging, find the best offers for items they are seeking, and handle official matters online.

Participation in the program—through regular training sessions—will also help modernize library operations. In a modern library, people can meet friends, pursue their passions, deepen their interests, and undertake initiatives together with others. In facilities where space permits, we also plan to organize exhibitions, meetings, interest groups, and discussion clubs.

We warmly invite you to visit the Library facilities!
