The library promotes reading – Preschoolers visit the Library!

In addition to collecting, cataloguing, and lending its book collection, the library also carries out tasks related to the promotion of reading. As one of many institutions that promote culture and education in the community, the library stands out in that the main means of its influence remains the book and the content it contains.

In practice, such activities also include literary lectures, whose purpose is to spark listeners’ interest in a topic and encourage them to deepen their engagement, while providing an excellent opportunity to ask questions and express personal opinions. On November 6, 2008, children from the Primary Schools in Wierzchosławice and Łętowice had the opportunity to participate in lectures conducted by Ms. Urszula Szuster, M.A. The lecture topics were:

  • in Łętowice: A Journey into the Land of Adventure – Alfred Szklarski,
  • in Wierzchosławice: In the World of Fairy Tales, Legends, Stories, and Myths

We also promote books among the youngest citizens of our municipality. In October and November, children from the Preschool in Wierzchosławice took part in a Storytime Meeting at the library. They solved riddles and listened to stories: Czesław Janczarski’s The Most Beautiful Fairy Tales and Karolina Skrzyniarz’s Fairy-Tale Confusion. The beautifully completed coloring pages were displayed in the children’s corner. As can be seen in the photos, the children participated actively in the activities.
